Delph: has found opportunities limited at Villa Park.
Delph suffers injury setback
Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph is facing another long spell on the sidelines after an ankle injury curtailed his loan deal at Leeds.
Delph suffered the blow during the Whites’ 2-1 defeat at Coventry last weekend and it has been confirmed by a specialist that he will miss the rest of the season, ending his chances of breaking into the Villains first team.
Villa boss Alex McLeish told the club’s website: "Delph is not fit. I don't know if he will play again this season but he's rolled his ankle sufficiently enough to rule him out.
"Hopefully, if he comes back stronger in the summer then we will see a different Delphy."
The Villains will hope they can put the news behind them when they travel to face Wigan on Saturday, with McLeish’s side best-priced 13/8 to win, with Paddy Power.
Stan James make the Latics a standout 19/10 to take the points.
