Delap sees red overturned
Stoke have received a boost after the red card shown to Rory Delap in Sunday’s 2-0 FA Cup win at Crawley was overturned following an appeal.
The Irish midfielder was dismissed on the quarter-hour mark for a tackle on the hosts’ defender David Hunt.
Despite the one-man deficit, Tony Pulis’ men advanced to a quarter-final tie at Anfield against Liverpool following goals from Jonathan Walters and Peter Crouch.
After examining the evidence given the Football Association decided to withdraw the 35-year-old’s three-match suspension.
Speaking to BBC Radio Stoke the Potters’ assistant manager David Kemp said: "I'm absolutely delighted but it should never have come to this. Well done to the authorities because they've come up with the right decision this time.
"[The decision] is good - not just for Stoke, it's good for football," he added.
The long-throw specialist will be available as his side welcome high-flying Swansea to the Britannia on Sunday. The home team are 11/10 with Bet365 to take all three points while the visitors' best price is 29/10 with Stan James.
