Stoke lost out to Valencia in the Europa League on Thursday night and they’re in cup action again on Sunday lunchtime with a trip to West Sussex. The Red Devils are eyeing another cup upset; they have already seen off three higher-ranked clubs in this season’s competition.

Match betting

  • Crawley are yet to conceded a goal in this season’s FA Cup, seeing off Bury, Redbridge, Bristol City and Hull. But their form in League Two hasn’t been quite so dominant of late. They went down at Swindon on Tuesday and have won only once in five.
  • Stoke have struggled in the Premier League of late, losing four in a row. They have won only once in nine and slipped into the bottom half. They have knocked out Gillingham and Derby on the road in this year’s competition.
  • These two have never met in competitive action. Crawley faced Premier League opposition in the cup last term, going down 1-0 at Old Trafford.

Stoke to win at 9/8

Over/under

  • Town’s three FA Cup victories over opposition from higher divisions all brought under 2.5 total goals. But only four of their 14 league outings at the Broadfield have brought under that mark.
  • None of Stoke’s last six league matches have seen over 3.5 goals but in all three of their 13 away games have ended over that mark. In the domestic cups, two of their games have finished under 2.5 goals and the other two over 2.5.

Under 2.5 goals at 5/6

Correct score

  • Steve Evans’ men have progressed through each of the last two rounds thanks to 1-0 triumphs while they have kept eight clean sheets in league action this term. They average 2.35 goals at game at home in League Two.
  • City have failed to score in nine league outings this season, with six of those coming away from home. They average 0.69 goals a game on their travels in the Premier League. They have fared better in Europe, finding the net in each of their five away trips.

Stoke to win 2-1 at 17/2

Double result

  • The Reds were leading 2-0 at the break against non-league Redbridge in round two but the scores were level in the other three matches. Ten of their league games have been all square at the break with Crawley going on to win five and draw the other five.
  • Tony Pulis’ side have been ahead in each of the previous two rounds of the FA Cup, by a single goal in both matches. They have gone on to win in each of the five Premier League games in which they have led at half-time, however, they let a lead slip against Liverpool in the Carling Cup, going on to lose 2-1.

Draw/Stoke double result at 9/2

Goalscorers

  • Matt Tubbs scored five times in this competition for the Sussex club, including the winners in each of the last two rounds, but he has since signed for Bournemouth. Tyrone Barnett has netted 14 times in all competitions this season.
  • Peter Crouch and Jon Walters have both managed six domestic goals for City. Cameron Jerome and Robert Huth have each netted twice in the FA Cup this season, but Huth will be suspended on Sunday.

Tyrone Barnett anytime scorer at 5/2

Key men

  • This may not be an attractive clash so Sergio Torres’ influence in midfield will be all the more important. The Argentine has starred for the Reds this term and he is capable of hurting the Potters if he is able to get on the ball in a congested midfield.
  • The hosts aren’t likely to make it easy for Pulis’ side so they’ll need to show their class in front of goal when they get the chance. That’s where Crouch will come in – the front man will be able to deal with the physical battle and has the quality to make a difference.
