Cook looking to the future
New Accrington boss Paul Cook is determined to emulate the success the previous management achieved at the Crown Ground.
The former Sligo Rovers manager was appointed on Monday but didn’t take charge of the side for Tuesday’s defeat at Rotherham.
The 44-year-old returns to the club where he spent three years as a player at the end of his career.
He told Stanley’s official website: “I’m just looking forward to getting started. It’s been a few years since I’ve been involved in this football club; I’m proud and delighted to be back involved.”
He added: “It should never be forgotten what the previous management team in John (Coleman) and Jimmy (Bell) did but as a club now we’ve got to move forward together. It’s important now we focus on the future.”
Cook will take charge for the first time on Saturday as Accy host Plymouth.
They are a best price of 4/5 to take the points while Argyle are available at 15/4 with Bet365.
Stanley currently sit ninth, three points shy of the top seven. Bet365 and Victor Chandler make them 16/1 to achieve promotion.
