Curle gets Magpies chance

Notts County have appointed Keith Curle as their new boss, after sacking Martin Allen on Saturday.

Curle was last employed as Neil Warnock’s assistant at QPR and has also spent time in charge at Chester and Torquay.

The 48-year-old arrives at Meadow Lane with a backroom staff which includes Colin Lee, Chris Kiwomya and Kevin Pilkington.

Allen was dismissed at the weekend as County went down 3-0 at Hartlepool. However, the club sit ninth in the division and eight points shy of the play-off places.

Curle’s side host in-form Stevenage on Wednesday night with the Magpies a best of 9/5 with Victor Chandler to take the points. The visitors are available at 17/10.
