Nottingham Forest captain Luke Chambers Chambers: skipper has criticised fans at the City Ground

Chambers slams boo-boys

Nottingham Forest captain Luke Chambers has criticised fans who booed the players during Saturday's 2-0 victory over Coventry.

The Reds were jeered off at half-time after a goalless opening 45 minutes of their match against relegation rivals City, but Chambers insists it doesn't help the cause.

"The supporters didn't support us in the first half, we went off at 0-0 and got booed," said the centre-back. "When you're down in the hole we're in, that's not going to help anyone."

"Maybe it's a minority trying to get on our backs but it's transferring to the whole crowd. There was a hell of a lot of frustration at half-time. If you support Forest and you're that negative it's only going to cause problems for us on the pitch."

Steve Cotterill's outift moved out of the relegation zone and three points above 22nd-placed Portsmouth after Saturday's victory, and they can be backed at 5/4 to get relegated with Skybet.

The Reds face a trip to in-form Birmingham on Saturday, and William Hill chalk up the away win at a standout 5/1.
