Late Ayew rocks Ranieri

Andre Ayew struck in the last minute to hand 5/4 Marseille a 1-0 victory against Inter Milan on Wednesday night and pile more misery on Claudio Ranieri.

The Ghanaian handed his side a slender advantage ahead of the second leg after an evenly-matched encounter at the Stade Velodrome.

Already slipping in the outright market after their miserable league form, Inter are now 40/1 for the crown.

It was a similar situation across the border in Basel, where Valentin Stocker netted four minutes from time to earn the Swiss side a 1-0 success against Bayern Munich.

As our preview suggested, the hosts had enough to hold off the Germans, who were missing Bastian Schweinsteiger, and land odds of 6/1 with Boylesports. Bet365 make them 200/1 to win the competition.

A day earlier Napoli had seen off Chelsea 3-1, with the Azzurri coming from behind to seal a routine success thanks to a double from Ezequiel Lavezzi and a further effort from Edinson Cavani.

Bwin now have Walter Mazzarri’s men at 20/1 fifth favourites for the crown, while they are 3/8 to qualify for the next stage.

In Russia, Pontus Wernbloom scored a late equaliser for CSKA Moscow against Real Madrid after Cristiano Ronaldo had opened the scoring in the first half.

However, after that away goal Paddy Power have the Spaniards at 1/20 to make it through, while CSKA are 10/1 with William Hill.

Results: Basel 1-0 Bayern Munich, Marseille 1-0 Inter Milan (Weds), CSKA Moscow 1-1 Real Madrid, Napoli 3-1 Chelsea (Tues)
